Vermont Food Animal Veterinary Education Loan Repayment Program
Vermont Food Animal Veterinary Education Loan Repayment Program Since 2011, the Vermont legislature has allocated $30,000 annually to the Vermont Food Animal Veterinary Education Loan Repayment Program (VFAVELRP) to support the repayment of veterinary student loans of food animal veterinarians willing to practice in underserved areas of Vermont. The Vermont Veterinary Medical Association administers the program however applicants do not have to be members of the VVMA. Thanks to new grant terms from the State of Vermont, applicants may now apply for 4 years of funding (increased from 3 years).
In an effort to reduce the use of paper, we are pleased to note that the application and recommendations are all online this year. The deadline to apply for this grant is November 8, 2024.
The VVMA is pleased to be involved in this important effort. Please contact VFAVELRP Task Force Chair Dr. Jennifer Linden, Vermont State Veterinarian Dr. Emily Buskey, or VVMA Executive Director Linda Waite-Simpson if you have any questions.
