The Arlington Animal Hospital is in beautiful southwestern Vermont, just south of Manchester and north of Bennington on scenic route 7A. The Hospital has been independently owned for 30 years and is growing. We offer services to small animals including exotics and have a full suite of diagnostic equipment including digital x-ray, ultrasound, and in-house laboratory. Veterinary Technician - Richmond, VT Seeking a veterinary technician with at least 2 years of experience in surgery and general practice for our privately owned practice.
Join our excellent team of technicians and assistants in the beautiful town of Richmond. We are a thriving practice offering opportunities to work with multiple doctors with various backgrounds and interests, including acupuncture, dentistry, pathology and ophthalmology. Job responsibilities include client education, animal handling, venipuncture, lab work, and radiographs. Surgery shifts (2-4 per month to start) include surgical monitoring, administering drugs, assisting with dental procedures and dental radiographs.

Veterinary Technician - West Windsor, VT
Lucy Mackenzie Humane Society is seeking a full-time experienced technician/nurse to join our team! This position will report directly to the shelter veterinarian, and will work closely with the veterinarian, management, and support staff to monitor and address medical care of the animals while they are housed in the shelter. Candidates must have experience assisting with surgeries and safe animal handling for medical exams. A good understanding of infectious disease and preventative care in a “herd health” shelter environment is desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a liaison between management, veterinarian and shelter staff regarding medical care
- Perform daily rounds to check charts and visually assess animals and address concerns
- Triage and vaccinate all intake animals
- Use a microscope to perform in-house urinalysis and fecal flotation
- Medicate animals daily
- Assist with surgeries, including administration of injectable anesthetics, intubation and monitoring of anesthesia under the supervision of the veterinarian
- Awareness of cat and dog normal ranges for anesthesia monitoring, and to be able to immediately identify abnormal
- Clean and maintain intake area, examination room and surgical suite
- Maintain accurate charts, including medical summaries for adoptable animals
- Consult with potential adopters regarding medical needs or medical conditions of animals
- Maintain medication and medical supplies inventory and place orders in a timely manner, while working within budget
